Introduction
Bugatti, a brand famous for its record-breaking supercars, is creating their very first skyscraper. A shiny and strange-looking tower in Dubai’s wealthy Business Bay – this project is designed to become the epitome of luxury. But why on earth is Bugatti suddenly building a skyscraper? And how will it be different from other luxury skyscrapers? The answer is actually quite surprising, let’s find out!

Who is behind this Building?
Plans for the Bugatti Residences were first announced back in May 2023. It was heavily marketed as an unprecedented collaboration between two visionary brands in the world of high luxury.
The first one is Binghatti, a high-end Emirati development company famous for their unmatched quality when it comes to property development. They are responsible for many of Dubai’s most luxurious and uniquely designed residential buildings. Binghatti has also recently announced their collaboration with another luxury brand, Jacob & Co. Together they plan to create the world’s tallest residential tower, the so-called Hyper Tower. We recently featured this project in another article.

But back to the topic, the second brand in this collaboration is Bugatti, who are a complete stranger when it comes to real estate projects. Bugatti is a French luxury automobile manufacturer that specializes in the creation of some of the world’s most expensive and most iconic sports cars. The brand gained much of its prestige because of their exceptional and consistent attention to detail when it comes to the craftsmanship of their cars. Bugatti has even created some ultra-rare one-off models with the “La Voiture Noire.” This model was at one point the most expensive car in the world when it reportedly sold for as much as $18.7 million. The brand is also known for their high-performance supercars which have held multiple world records for being some of the fastest in the world with record-breaking speeds and acceleration. Owning a Bugatti is a massive status symbol, which only the super-rich can achieve.
The Design of the Bugatti Skyscraper
The design philosophy behind the Bugatti Residences will be unlike anything Binghatti has ever done before. The skyscraper itself will take inspiration from the iconic look of Bugatti’s luxury cars, evoking a sense of masterful craftsmanship and exclusivity. With the cheapest two-bedroom apartments costing as much as $5.5 million USD, owning a Bugatti Residence is as exclusive as owning the vehicles themselves. Additionally, the 11 penthouses which the developers are calling “Sky Mansion Penthouses” will be sold at a starting price of more than $200 million USD, making these properties some of the most expensive in the entire world.

The development will also take inspiration from the French Riviera with the building’s facade incorporating fluid lines and subtle curves. The apartments will even be named after some of the most iconic locations along the French Coast such as Cannes, Saint-Tropez, and Monaco. The Bugatti Residences will also feature a private artificial beach at the base of the building. The beach aims to mimic the Riviera’s picturesque Mediterranean landscape. The skyscraper will be built at the heart of Dubai in Business Bay, the city’s wealthiest district. This location will give its residents easy access to many of the city’s most famous landmarks and attractions such as the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Frame, and the Dubai Opera.
But the residents probably care more for the exclusive high-end services such as a private members’ club, a fitness club, and a personal chauffeur and concierge… which is actually pretty much like every other luxury skyscraper.
Inside the Bugatti Skyscraper
Aside from all units having their own unique floor plan, each of the larger apartments will also feature a private pool, a jacuzzi spa, and a chef’s table. Every apartment will also have its own balcony with direct access to both sunlight and impressive views of Dubai’s skyline no matter which floor they’re in. This is possible because of the unique design featuring slightly different floor layouts which gives each level an open-air feel.
If the previously mentioned details were still not enough to sell you on the sheer luxury and opulence, this next part might convince you. If you are one of the lucky penthouse owners, you get access to one of the two garage-to-penthouse car lifts. This makes it possible for residents in the topmost penthouse units to park their luxury cars in their very own living rooms hundreds of meters above the ground! As insane as this idea may sound, this is the exact level of luxury and exclusivity that both Binghatti and Bugatti are marketing towards their potential buyers. A unique and one-of-a-kind experience that cannot be had anywhere else in the world.
In total, the skyscraper will consist of 48 floors and rise over the Dubai skyline at 200 meters tall. The two companies behind it hope that the construction will give birth to a brand new icon and serve as a “landmark of architectural prowess derived from the Bugatti and Binghatti DNA.” Whatever that exactly means… Construction is expected to begin soon and is expected to take three and a half years to finish. But, according to Binghatti themselves, they are positive given their own track record that it could even be done sooner than that.

Why is it being built?
Despite all the impressive buzzwords and luxury surrounding the Bugatti Residences, why is it actually being built in the first place? And why of all the possible brands to collaborate with, is Binghatti teaming up with a luxury automobile manufacturer? The answer is actually quite simple. The Bugatti Residences is only the latest among a series of residential properties being created by luxury car brands. Even though luxury apartments have historically been extremely hard to sell, this emerging trend of ‘car-branded residences’ is proving to be more successful than anticipated.
The Aston Martin Residences in Miami which opened just last year, for example, has actually broken their own sales record every month since opening despite the ongoing pandemic. In fact, 70% of its properties have already been sold and the demand for them continues to increase over time. Just over on the other side of Miami at Sunny Isles Beach, the Porsche Design Tower Miami which opened in 2017 is already 95% sold. With the project’s success, the company is even planning to create a similar development in Frankfurt which is currently in the planning stage. Finally, Lamborghini has also recently announced their plans to create a series of more than 50 luxury villas across the southern coast of Spain. This new project is designed to “reflect the ethos of the sports car brand.” This newest announcement is only the latest addition in the company’s long list of real estate developments around the world located in Brazil, Egypt, China, UAE, and Vietnam.
Bugatti is looking to replicate this same success with the creation of their first skyscraper. And with a reputable company such as Binghatti supporting the project, the Bugatti Residences is looking to be a very promising venture.
